Reiki is a holistic therapy which brings about healing and is one of the most ancient healing methods. It has been said to have originated in Tibet 2,500 years ago and was rediscovered in the 1900's by Dr. Mikao Usui a Japanese monk. Dr. Usui was searching for personal enlightenment at Mr. Kurama when he made this discovery. In a mystical revelation Dr. Usui received the ability of healing without energy depletion and the knowledge to apply this healing and to attune others.
Roughly translated; Rei means "god's wisdom" or "The Higher Power" and Ki means "life force energy", together we can say "spiritually guided life force energy".
Reiki is a time honored sacred method of bringing balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul, by acting as a connection with ever flowing "prana" universal life energy. Universal Life Energy is the life force or living energy that sustains life of organs, cells, tissue and blood. As a spiritual entity the life force is considered our connective flow to the creator. Also known as, Chi or qi (Chinese), Prana (Hindi), Ki (Japanese).
This energy from the hands of a Reiki giver will go to wherever it is needed for a persons highest good, it can be called an "intelligent energy".. Reiki is not harmful in any way and can be felt as a relaxing meditation. Reiki can ease chronic pain, reduce stress, accelerate healing, clear emotional blocks and more. A Reiki session can fill you with energies that uplift your frequencies.
During a Reiki session you remain fully clothed, accept for shoes. To begin the Reiki session it is helpful for both the practitioner and the recepient to set a clear intention, this creates a greater flow of energy. "Where in tentions goes, Reiki flows". The Reiki practitioner will place their hands on different parts of your body for a few minutes at a time. The recipient often feels warmth or tingling in the area being treated. It can be said that experiencing deep relaxation is healing in itself.
Becoming a Reiki practitioner is simple and anyone can do it. Reiki is transferred by a Reiki Master to the Reiki student by attunment or transfer. This allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of life force energy.
Our bodies are made up of many chakras. There are 7 chakra centers that are most significant that run throughout our bodies. Chakra is a sanskrit word meaning "wheel" or "disc" and is meant to define these centers as constantly circiling points. These centers receive and express life force energy and work as a holistic system formed by mind, body and spirit. Each point resonates with a sound, scent, emotion, color, crystal...
Chakras can become blocked or unbalanced. The state of blocked or unbalanced chakras can carry over to all areas of life. Balancing chakras can be done in many ways; Reiki, aromatherapy, meditation, yoga, etc.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
